Today’s show is a holiday special. While enjoying this wonderful time, thoughts occasionally flash through our minds:
How did we get together as a family? How did our mother meet our father? How did I become their child? Did it all happen by chance? Or was it destiny?
In the ancient East, people believed there was a special connection between people. They called it “Yuan” or “Yuan fen .” Without this Yuan or Yuanfen, people won’t pass each other on the street. To express this Yuan in English, standard translations are fate or destiny.
But fate and destiny refer to something destined to happen in a person’s life. These two words do not specifically refer to the relationship between people. So, how can we better understand this connection between people?
